The Book of James Study

Women's Ministry

Do you have a perfect sibling? Perhaps an older brother or sister who does everything right?

Imagine if your older brother was Jesus. James, the younger brother of Christ, is the author of the New Testament letter bearing his name. He was only converted to Christianity after the Resurrection when Jesus appeared to him directly and James’ life was forever changed. He became the head of the Jerusalem Church and played a major role in the Jerusalem Council which recognized the rights of Gentiles. This letter is filled with wisdom and spiritual guidance, it offers valuable insights into the early Christian community and underscores the importance of faith-related actions like prayer, self-control, and unyielding hope.

Join us this fall for an eight-week study led by Teri McCarthy of the life and writings of this fascinating Christian called James the Just – who moved from skeptic to disciple and who is probably more like us than we realize. Please bring a Bible and a notebook for journaling. We’ll have scripture memorization opportunities for those who want to participate. We’ll read a chapter a week (there are five) and we’ll have discussions, Q/A, and some historical backdrops to help the Book of James come alive. It’s sure to be a profitable time of study and encouragement together.

CHILDCARE REGISTRATION IS CLOSED.
