Restoring Hope in Grief
As many in our church family are carrying the heavy burden of recent or lingering grief, Blue Valley will be hosting “Restoring Hope in Grief” on the evening of May 1. “Restoring Hope in Grief” will be a panel discussion led by Pastor Derrick featuring Dr. Corey Schliep of Christ First Counseling Center. Participants will also include Terri Gake and Clayton Smith who lead Blue Valley’s GriefShare ministry, and Robert House who teaches on the Antioch Campus and is navigating the loss of his oldest son a couple of years ago.
There is no registration required to attend this event, but registration for childcare IS required. The effects of grief and trauma can’t be resolved in one evening; however, our goal will be to provide everyone in attendance a toolkit to help cope with grief that can at times feel overwhelming. Be sure to invite those in your circle of influence both inside and outside of our church to attend with you.
