Inclement Weather Schedule Changes

Sunday, January 5th, UPDATE!

Due to inclement weather, Sunday morning worship will be ONLINE ONLY at 11am featuring leadership from both campuses. Stream on our YouTube Channel, Facebook or website at 11am. All evening activities are cancelled.

A Note from Derrick (as stated in this weeks eDove)

We are looking forward to an exciting year of ministry at BVC in 2025!  Unfortunately, our first weekend for worship looks like it is going to be impacted by what is forecasted to be a significant winter storm.  In order to not get caught by surprise Sunday morning, and in an effort to value the safety of the literally hundreds of volunteers needed to make a regular Sunday morning schedule happen, our schedule this Sunday will be as follows:

  • ONE Service only at 11:00 on BOTH campuses
  • NO Sunday School
  • NO Childcare
  • NO Sunday Night Activities

We WILL be streaming the 11:00 Antioch worship service as usual for those who decide to not venture out, but keep in mind there will be NO 9:30 LIVESTREAM.  Only the 11:00 Antioch service will be streamed this coming Sunday.

You can access the stream as usual from our website – https://bluevalleychurch.org/live-stream/ ...or our church YouTube channel – https://www.youtube.com/@BlueValleyChurch .

Now, a word about our parking lots Sunday.

Because the snow is forecasted to be falling through the day on Sunday, our parking lots WILL NOT BE CLEARED.  This keeps us from having to schedule our snow removal service to remain onsite at both campuses through the morning and incur the related costs.  Our deacons will do their best to keep access to our buildings open.  Just understand that the timing of this event keeps us from having our parking lots in top shape this Sunday morning.

Of course a weather forecast three days out can change, for better or worse.  This is Kansas after all!  However, should the snow miss us altogether, the schedule I’ve outlined above WILL BE our schedule this Sunday.

Finally, if conditions are such that we feel it prudent to cancel onsite services altogether, we will publish a cancellation notice to our website and social media feeds no later than 8:00 Sunday morning.

So there you have it.  Regardless of how you attend Sunday, in person or online, we’ll start part two of our sermon series from Luke.  This section of the series is titled, “The Purpose of Jesus” and we’ll be spending the next few months looking at Luke’s record of Christ’s ministry prior to the week of His Passion in Jerusalem.  We are really looking forward to sharing it with you.

Stay warm and safe!  It’s an honor to start another year as one of your pastors!
